Even for first time visitors Speyside can seem like a familiar place when you visit some of the area's towns and villages. Places like Glenlivet, Aberlour, Craigellachie and Dufftown are synonymous with Scotland's most famous export - whisky!
The Autumn Spirt of Speyside Whisky Festival is a six day celebration of the much loved tipple and promises tours of world renowned distilleries, malt whisky tastings, crafts and traditional music.
Definitely one for the diary.

Granite Cottage, Nethy Bridge near Aviemore, Cairngorms
Granite Cottage is a unique, luxury self catering holiday home with a 6 person outdoor hot tub set in the Cairngorms National Park. The house is split into two parts (Upper & Lower). The lower part can be rented separately for accommodation up to 8 people or the Upper and Lower can be rented together to accommodate up to 14 people. It offers the perfect location for a family holiday or as a base for group activities such as skiing, golf, hillwalking, mountainbiking and birdwatching.
